We're proud to present our theme for the sixth issue of Teen Eye Magazine.
THE ARMOR ISSUE -- A HAVEN FOR INSPIRED AND INSPIRING YOUTH TO GATHER AND RESIST THOSE THAT LIMIT PROGRESS; BUILDING AN ARMOR OF EDUCATION, ILLUMINATION AND TRUTH THROUGH ART AND AWARENESS.
We are what so many toxic legislators fear: we’re teen girls, we’re in the media, we don't like complacency, and we’re starving for positive change. Let’s talk about self protection, and group protection, so we can enrich our strength and stomp out bigots!
Your gender identity, your race, your sexuality, your creed, and your youth are non-issues. We only ask that contributors are nineteen and under, so we can reflect the teen voice.
Consider the following questions as you brainstorm:
What does the word armor mean to you? What is your armor?
How can youth mobilize to change the future for the better?
In what ways can teens create a uniform piece of armor? How do art forms, specifically fashion, play into this creation? How do our own mindsets play in?
Is it good to have chips in your own armor or should you try to be indestructible? Which is more appropriate?
Is armor external or internal, predestined or created? How would one create/grow armor regardless?
- How can we make our armor stay on for long enough to create a movement?
Think about education, responsibility, mainstream vs underground rebellion, the trope of damsels in distress, and our longevity; refer to the pitch guide for how to get involved.
